Giving kids the best of education is every parent’s dream. Most often, parents go the extra mile to ensure their ideas come to reality.
One of such parents is Jose Luis Dominguez, a Mexican father who makes the cross every day with his two kids to ensure they get the best education possible.
Every school day in South Texas, swarm of kids are seen walking towards the Hidalgo International Bridge minutes after 3:00 p.m.
7-year-old Luis and 8-year-old Kayla Dominguez are not left behind as they strap on their backpacks in readiness to walk a mile from their school to the other side of the border into Mexico.
Jose is determined to ensure his kids gets the best education despite how tedious, and tasking this could be on him and his kids.
“Education here is far better than what we have over there in Mexico, and that’s why I have taken it upon myself to bring them to school every day,” beams Dominguez
Just like Dominguez, thousands of parents living in Mexico have enrolled their kids into American schools through various programs as long as they have a physical address in the United States irrespective of whether they actually live there or not; to protect their child from harm.
According to Dominguez, he feels more at peace sending his kids to school in the United States knowing that they will be safer and out of harm’s way.
